Manx Breast Cancer Support Group – improving breast cancer treatment on the Isle of Man

A charity working to improve breast cancer treatment services on the Isle of Man, Manx Breast Cancer Support Group does an incredible job fundraising for specific and general breast cancer related equipment, research and services on the island.

The team behind Manx Breast Cancer Support Group

The charity began as a support group in 2011 when a number of patients and their friends became interested in improving things for breast cancer patients and campaigned for a dedicated breast surgeon at Nobles Hospital. In 2012, they formed a Manx Registered Charity no 1098 The Manx Breast Cancer Support Group and things have continued to grow since then.

What they do to support cancer patients

All funds raised by the charity stay on the island, and their primary goal has been to fundraise to build a local dedicated breast screening unit. Having done that, they continue to improve and enhance the services available. They also provide support for cancer patients who need to travel to UK hospitals. They have even been awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service for the work that they do.
