Rudding Park Spa opened in May 2017. During the planning phase their research highlighted offerings for patients who had been affected by Cancer within a spa environment were very limited or non-existent.
“With this in mind we felt very strongly that we should offer a provision for guests living with or beyond Cancer so we are thrilled to be working with Jennifer Young”
Rudding Park Spas Treatments manager, Jennifer Kirkby, said:
“It has been incredible to meet and be trained by Jennifer Young as she is so inspiring and passionate about what she does. The team have learnt so much and are really enjoying the chance to bring beauty to those who need it most.
At Rudding Park Spa, we can offer treatments including a Mind and Body Balance soothing full body massage blending 100% organic oils with the power of touch and energy from crystals to bring balance, harmony and wellbeing, a glow-inducing Blissful Facial, a Gentle Manicure with luxurious peach kernel oil and macadamia oil and a Gentle Pedicure to soothe and nourish the feet with organic oils and a pampering polish.
Guests experiencing a treatment can also enjoy four immersive Mind and Sense Zones, including an Audio Zone to listen to meditation tracks, a Relax Zone to unwind, a Mind Zone complete with colouring books and brain puzzles and a Visual Zone for scenes of lapping waves, wildflower meadows and breath-taking mountainscapes on the video mood wall.”
The response to the Rudding Park Spa offering adapted oncology massage treatments has been overwhelmingly positive.
“A big thank you for what was a fabulously indulgent day spent at the spa today. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and given a tour of the vast spa area, immediately putting me at ease and giving me the confidence to remove my wig (having lost my hair last week as a result of my treatment).
The treatment experience was amazing, from the comfort of the treatment rooms to the professionalism of the staff when providing the treatment. It was an additional bonus to find a number of skincare products had been left in my locker as a gift.
Despite being just two miles from home it truly felt like we were in the midst of the countryside. I’m really pleased to see treatment provision designed specifically for people who are living with cancer.”

Rudding Park Spa have welcomed a number of journalists from national and cosumer press since opening, all of whom have been very impressed and expressed how refreshing it is to hear about the partnership with Jennifer Young, and their partnership with the Sir Robert Macmillan Cancer Trust
“We approached the Sir Robert Macmillan Cancer Centre at Harrogate Hospital and have been overwhelmed by their support and enthusiasm.
We have arranged for their nurses to visit the spa to experience the Jennifer Young treatments allowing them to familiarise themselves with the offering so they can speak with confidence to their patients who might benefit from one of the treatments.
These shared experiences are mutually beneficial as it also provides our therapists with additional support and training as they can develop their emotional intelligence and how best to deal with sensitive situations.”
Rudding Park Spa are also planning on holding a number of events throughout the year to help increase awareness and do whatever they can to support patients living with or beyond cancer.
