A Scarf Tying Tutorial from Headwrappers - The Hair Loss Advisory Clinic

HeadWrappers are a hair loss advisory clinic for those who have experienced hair loss as a result of cancer treatment. The clinic was founded by a group of volunteers who originally worked as part of Breast Cancer Care’s Headstrong Team. When Breast Cancer Care withdrew the hair loss support part of their service, Cris, Julie and Karyn still felt that there was a strong need for it. They believed that those who were experiencing hair loss should be fully supported in what could be a really distressing time. This is how HeadWrappers was formed.

Their goal is to offer help and advice through counsel and providing creative ideas that focus on alternatives to wigs. That includes practical tips to help you feel more confident and look good as well. Part of the service includes practical support such as headscarf tying tutorials. See the video below to learn how to create a variety of headscarf designs such as the No Knot Side Ruffle, other wig alternatives and advice for scalp care.

As part of the support offered by HeadWrappers, you may join one of their monthly online Tea, Top Knots and Turbans sessions, in which they talk about coping with hair loss, provide tips for scalp care and teach you to make the most of scarves, hats and hair pieces. You also have the opportunity to raise any concerns that you have or issues you are experiencing and seek support.
You receive a free headscarf at your first appointment, and you get to try on a range of different headwear to see what suits you best. Once registered, you will be sent a hygienically packed package including a square cotton scarf in your choice of colour, a tie in a contrasting colour, a knitted headband, and a Defiant Beauty Lip Balm.
HeadWrappers were one of the charities to take part in Jennifer Young Ten Thousand Gifts project, in which ten thousand of our specialist skincare products were gifted to cancer patients through charities, hospitals and hospices. Therefore, they have much experience with the Jennifer Young collections. For best scalp care, they recommend our Scalp Care Collection which includes Dry Scalp Treatment for deep moisturisation, Scalp Care Oil to soothe and rejuvenate, and a Scalp Cleansing Spritz to refresh and cleanse.
The first five people to sign up to their next monthly Tea, Top Knots and Turbans session will get a free surprise Jennifer Young scalp care product. The next session is the 3rd of December at 1.30pm.
