Jodi: Burying feelings, burying trauma, it doesn't help anyone #BCAMandME

Jodi, @thesalontrainer, shares her message for breast cancer awareness month.

"I think I speak on behalf of the majority of the breast cancer community when I say that I'd love to raise awareness this month of the fact that it doesn't just stop when treatment stops."

Jodi has said that The Bric Centre (@briccentre) have helped her a lot, in building resistance ad understanding the meaning of toxic positivity.

Following treatment it is easy to feel as though you have to stop needing the same support you had during treatment. It is easy to feel as though you have to live up to other people's expectations and assumptions that you are okay, because they can no longer see the visible signs of illness that were there during treatment.

But, it is important to know that everybody experiences cancer differently and recovers in their own way. There is no time limit or deadline for when you have to feel okay again.

Being clear of how you are feeling with yourself and others will help your loved ones to continue supporting you, as they want to.
