Becoming a teenager again, hormones and cancer

Netfilx is a new addition to our family. I realise that I could never be accused of being an early adopter. Last week, Netflix entered our sitting room. I signed up for a free month as all of my daughters have language exams soon and they can watch in different languages (I am told, nothing in evidence yet). My life has changed. I am a total convert. I rarely watch TV, or rather didn’t. Now I am a teenager again. ‘Just one more episode’ I think and the day is gone. House of Cards Season 6 – you are my downfall. Luckily, I was chatting to a really lovely Lebanese guy on the RER (Paris train system) on Friday. It was one of those random conversations that happen on public transport (at least they happen to me). He is studying his Masters at The Sorbonne (prestigious seat of learning in Paris) and is extremely focussed. It was like talking to (the old) me, except more extreme. He has been selling software to businesses since he was 14 (now 30). Nothing matters to him, except God, family, learning and reaching his goals. Holidays, he thinks, are frivolous. The first question he asked me: ‘are you a tourist here?’ Thankfully, I was not, the conversation was allowed to continue. He saved me from myself. I can see a happy future that involves some telly, a lot of sitting down, and, maybe, some snacks, yeah, definitely some snacks. When I am tempted, I remind myself of his earnest, smiling face and my mission. Skincare for cancer patients is my mission. Hormones are featuring big at the mo. Oestrogen is everywhere, or nowhere. Specialist skincare for those living with and beyond cancer and Hot Beauty, the newly developed skincare to address the emotional and physical symptoms of menopause, consider the impact of hormones on cancer or the effects of the natural depletion of those hormones. I am often asked about the ingredients in our skincare collections, if you have any specific questions, please ask. I will answer, after the next episode.
