False Eyelashes

Using false eyelashes is probably easier than you think. It does take practice and it is more difficult if you can't follow your natural lash line but you can do it! Go for natural looking lashes that add volume not length. These can be tricky the first time but you just have to be patient and practice makes perfect. To apply false lashes:
  • Measure the lash against your eye, you want it to stop 1mm from the edge of you eye and not go all the way down into the inner corners. Cut your lash to length, remember to measure both eyes as nobody’s eyes are exactly the same size
  • Curl the lashes by squeezing at intervals along the lashes. This is the most important step! This is because when you take the lashes out of the box they shoot downwards and you don’t want this, as it doesn’t look natural or stays on well. If your lashes aren’t staying on it is probably because you haven’t curled them sufficiently.
  • Place some lash glue in a line on the back of your hand and, whilst holding the lashes with tweezers, run it through the glue so that you get an even spread on the strip of the lash. The glue is also very important as you need good glue to keep your lashes in place. So invest in good quality glue, such as Ardell Duo Lash Adhesive.
  • Allow the glue to dry a bit so that it becomes tacky, then whilst your eyes are open, place the lash gently onto the eyelid as close to the eye as possible, without getting glue in your eye. Gently pat the eyelashes onto your lid to make them hold. This bit is fiddly and takes practice.

Lash Illusions

If applying falsies isn't for you - use mineral eyeliner to create a lash illusion.
Natural Beauty
Using a full-edge liner brush, apply the Mineral Eye Liner-Black in a fine, precise line right along your top lash line. Extend the line slightly past the corner of your top lash line, and then line the lower lash line from the middle to the outer corner to achieve this Natural Beauty look.
Cleopatra
Dampen a pointed liner brush and apply the Mineral Eye Liner-Black in a fine, precise line right along your top lash line. To gradually thicken the line, apply more pressure to the brush as you near the outer corner of your lash line, and flick up slightly past the corner. To finish off the Cleopatra look, line the lower lash line from the middle to the outer corner.
Smoky Eyes
Dampen a pointed liner brush and apply the Mineral Eye Liner-Black in a thick line along your top lash line. Line all the way along your bottom lash line, going from the inner corner to the outer corner. Then use a soft edge liner brush to apply some Mineral Eyeshadow - Storm Grey from the middle of the lower and upper lash line to the outer corner. Smudge the eyeshadow gently to diffuse the colour, creating the Smoky Eyes look.
