Having a postgraduate degree in law and another in occupational health, Jennifer has been accepted as an expert witness by the Courts. It is the role of the expert to advise the Courts on technical matters, in Jennifer’s case, on matters of control of cross infection. Hygiene and infection control is one of the areas of expertise particularly important to your work with those affected by cancer. Many of those undergoing treatment for cancer have compromised immunity. It is important for spas working with cancer patients or those living with or beyond cancer to actively manage the risks to the new client group. The Jennifer Young Training School place special emphasis on this during their cancer massage courses as well as all of the other cancer therapy courses offered.
Our work comes with responsibility and we take that responsibility very seriously. We don’t have any existing products that we have to sell, we work only with those going through treatment for cancer and all that we do is as specialist and as good as it can be.
We all know how tedious training can be – ours is not. We use techniques to appeal to all of the learning styles, making sure that our training is accessible to all. We are aware of the many challenges to learning and make our courses as interactive and lively as possible.
The Jennifer Young Training School tutors are experts in learning as well as cancer massage and other oncology therapies.
“A friendly, fun yet highly informative course run by Fiona, who showed care, time and presented the course amazingly. Any questions, concerns or additional info were all dealt with and I found her highly professional, friendly and helpful.” – Claire.
Having been asked to provide beauty and holistic services as well as specialist products for the new NHS Guys Cancer Centre in London, we feel your pain. We know what it is like to run a commercial organisation offering treatments. We can help with retail, marketing messages, appropriate language, consultation forms and the practicalities of working with those living with and beyond cancer.
We are in this together. We are constantly reading and researching and we always inform our clients if we find something of interest.
All of our training notes are fully referenced, so that you, and your insurers, can see the reliability of our information.
Most insurers add our treatments to a policy at no extra cost. An extra cost as routine would indicate an additional risk – we do not sell insurance, we don’t offer any additional premium and we do not expect that you will be charged more to work with cancer patients. Obviously, this depends upon your agreement with your insurer BUT our therapists are usually able to add their new qualification at no extra cost.
